People on the south side of Limerick have an opportunity to sign up with a wide range of clubs in Southill, O’Malley Park, on Sat, June 20. Over 15 clubs and groups will have a sign up day, with information on what they do and how to join, in the Southill Area Centre on June 20,  from 12pm-3pm. All ages and abilities are welcome, to find out about a range of activities they can link into, with includes a variety of clubs such as; Boxing, Soccer, Gardening, Men’s Shed and much more having stand on the day. Clubs will cater to those young and active, and to the older and wiser, and those organising the clubs will be available to answer questions and encourage new members.

The ‘Whats On in Your Community” event will also link in with Limerick Smarter Travel Bike Week, as the local Men’s Shed group run a bike fixing workshop from 11am-3pm in the grounds of the community centre. If your bicycle needs a little TLC then bring it along and get it fixed on the day.

Clubs and projects from the area will have stands with information about what they do, showing pictures and highlighting opportunities for people to volunteer and more. The event is open to the public to come and see whats on offer and to get involved.

This fun day will also see the creation of a live local community activity calendar and have a think space that will re-envision the JFK quote: “Ask not what your community can do for you, but what you can do for your community”.
