The Southill Hub Santas Grotto is back for one day only on Saturday, December 4, where Santa Claus himself will be making a special appearance at his annual grotto!

On the day, there will be many creative workshops at Santa’s Grotto, such as cookie decorating, bauble making, and much more, including an appearance and photo opportunity with Santa himself!

“A vibrant community like Southill needs events like this in the run-up to Christmas,” said Ronan Dunne, event Coordinator for the Southill Hub.

“It’s important that the covid pandemic isn’t going to be the only thing that we remember this Christmas, but the memories we make with each other, and if this Christmas grotto can bring some joy, our job is done”

Southill Hub’s recent Halloween ‘Freaky Friday Family Fun Night’ was their first big event to welcome the public back to the Hub since the pandemic began and the sold-out event proved to be a huge success, and they hope their Santa’s Grotto proves to be just as successful.

The Southill Hub is a not-for-profit community centre which serves the Southill community. The Hub, which was originally called the Southill Area Centre, first opened its doors in 2008 and has been a key service to the community ever since.

In 2018, the centre was relaunched as the Southill Hub. The Hub runs a Youth Work Programme, a community café, a community garden, and sports hall. There are also meeting rooms and a computer room available to community groups and community organisations.

Tickets for the Grotto go on sale on Friday, November 12, at 10.30am, and can be bought online through Eventbrite or at the reception desk in the Hub. Sales will be limited to 2 family tickets per person.

Tickets cost €5 for a family of 4, and €1 for each additional child.

Early purchase is advised, and the event will be following government guidelines. The wearing of facemasks will be essential as well as and proof of vaccination for those over the age of 18.

The Hub, located at the community centre in the heart of O’Malley Park, is delighted to have such a special guest and hopes to see you all on Saturday, December 4.
