Limerick Specsavers Wearer of the Year 2012

The Specsavers Limerick Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2012 grand final took place in Aubars where 8 finalists came along to try win the top title. First prize includes designer glasses from Specsavers, a portfolio photoshoot by cutting edge photographer and illustrator Ken Coleman, and more. There was of surprises on the night including a retro fashion parade by Be Fabulous themed around Gok Wan’s range of glasses for Specsavers. The event was hosted by Richard Lynch.

Sinead Clohessy, store director at Specsavers in Limerick said, “We see so many people in the store who look absolutely amazing in their glasses. The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to shout about the modelling talent right on our doorstep. It allows us to celebrate those who wear their specs with pride and plenty of style and who are great role models for younger specs wearers to aspire to.”

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
