Limerick Chamber will be hosting a seminar named ‘Spending Trends: Tourism, Retail & Hospitality Industry Insights & Marketing Trends’ on Tuesday 22 January at 2.30pm in the Savoy Hotel in association with their official SME partner AIB.

Industry experts will provide an overview across a range of topics to ensure that attendees are fully informed in a continually changing landscape.

“AIB are delighted to partner with Limerick Chamber to provide guests of the event with useful and up to date statistical insights on Spending Trends in the Hospitality & Tourism Sector in Ireland and will also specifically provide insights for the Clare / Limerick market. AIB are using data to inform ourselves and our customers on trends in the various subsectors of hospitality and tourism. As the largest lender to this sector in Ireland, we continue to support existing and new customers to achieve their business goals and ambitions.”

This Spending Trends event will begin with David McCarthy, Head of Tourism & Retail in AIB, outlining how anonymous and aggregated data can be utilised to help business customers tailor their offerings. The figures quoted are anonymised and aggregated and are compiled from AIB credit and debit cards, AIB ATM data, and AIB Merchant Services card acquiring data.

Orla O’Connor, Director of the National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI), will outline how the website ‘Limerick.ie’ grew to one million visitors in 2018. Limerick.ie is a one-stop-shop for obtaining information on living, working, visiting and doing business in Limerick. Niall O’Callaghan, Managing Director of Shannon Heritage Ltd., which maintains the largest tourist attractions in the region such as Bunratty and King John’s Castle, will talk about 2018 and give his projections for 2019.

Gerrard Roche, Chief Superintendent of An Garda Siochana will outline the initiatives and programmes being run to help businesses protect their premises, goods and assets.

Lastly, David Fitzsimons of Retail Excellence Ireland will speak about the latest thinking and initiatives being trialled to address challenges faced by retailers.
