Annual St Gabriels Fundraising Golf Classic and St Gabriels Great Limerick Run Want Your Help

St. Gabriel’s School and Centre, invites you to participate in this year’s annual St Gabriels Fundraising Golf Classic on May 10 and 11, 2018.

St. Gabriel’s School and Centre is a non-profitable children’s disability organization, and a registered charity located in Dooradoyle, on the south side of Limerick City. St. Gabriel’s School and Centre is dedicated to providing education and a range of essential health-related therapies and clinical intervention programmes to more than 500 children and young adults living with physical disabilities, developmental delay or more serious life-limiting conditions. Up to 58 children with special needs attend St. Gabriel’s school each day, while St. Gabriel’s Centre delivers a range of interventions and support services for up to 400 of these children and their families on an outpatient basis. They work not only with children and their disabilities but also their families.

Annually, up to 200 golfers representing a cross-section of businesses throughout the region hit the fairways to show their support for our charity. Proceeds raised from the St Gabriels Fundraising Golf Classic will go towards the development of St. Gabriel’s Respite House in Mungret. At present, there is a huge shortage of centre-based respite for children with disabilities.

When up and running the respite house will provide short-term, planned and emergency overnight accommodation. The aim of this respite house is to support the families of the children and to allow them to have a break while their child is cared for in the respite house.

St. Gabriel’s are asking you to take part in the Bon Secours Hospital Great Limerick Run on Sunday 6 May. The event brings great excitement to the streets of Limerick and has three different races, a marathon, a half marathon and a 6-mile making it suitable for everyone no matter what age. This event is a great way of challenging yourself as well as raising funds for a worthwhile charity.

You can join Team St. Gabriel’s in participating the run and support our worthwhile cause to raise funds and awareness to build a new Children’s Respite House for children with multiple disabilities.

If you would like to join Team St. Gabriel’s and get active by getting involved with either the Great Limerick Run or the St Gabriels Fundraising Golf Classic please contact Kate by email [email protected].
