“Every shot makes a difference!” as St Gabriel’s calls on businesses and golfers to support the 2026 Golf Classic on Friday, April 24

St. Gabriel’s Foundation is calling on businesses, corporate teams, and golfers across the Mid‑West to support its Annual Golf Classic, taking place on Friday, 24th April at Limerick Golf Club.
The long‑running event is one of the organisation’s most important fundraisers, helping to provide essential therapy and clinical services for children with disabilities.
Local companies are encouraged to enter a team, sponsor a tee box, or contribute in any way they can. All funds raised will directly support St. Gabriel’s work with children and families who rely on its services.
Speaking at the launch, Aideen Shinners, Director of Services, St. Gabriel’s Foundation, said it would mean a great deal to see strong community involvement this year.
She said, “The support of local businesses and golfers is so important to an event like this because it allows us to put these funds directly into helping families. Every team that joins us and every sponsor who gets involved helps us sustain important service initiatives, including reducing waiting times for assessments, expanding trials of communication devices, and improving access to clinical pathways such as sleep, emotional regulation, and activities of daily living. Funds raised through the Golf Classic genuinely make a difference for the children and families we work with, and we are sincerely grateful to everyone who supports it.”
The Golf Classic has become a staple of the local fundraising calendar, attracting strong participation each year. Organisers are encouraging early registration as demand is high.

Committee Chairman Terry McInerney, who has been involved with the Golf Classic since the very beginning, says this year promises to be one of the best yet. He said, “Limerick Golf Club has undergone renovation works over the past year and it’s looking absolutely fantastic. We’re really looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new golfers on the day.
“For businesses, it’s a brilliant opportunity to spend time with clients or colleagues, and if you can’t join us, sponsoring a tee box or a prize is another great way to show your support. Late April is the perfect time to get back out on the course, and with a lovely meal afterwards, it’s always a great day out for a really worthy cause.”
Taking place on Friday, April 24 at Limerick Golf Club, Ballyclough with a team of four, with prizes and refreshments on the day. You can support St Gabriel’s by entering a team (€500 per team), sponsor a tee box (€150 per tee box) or make a donation. All donations over €250 are tax deductible.
