St Gabriel’s school in Dooradoyle is a primary and post-primary school for children aged 4-18 with multiple physical/sensory disabilities and/or developmental delay, and more life-limiting conditions. The school caters for children from the whole of Munster and is one of only five similar schools in the whole of Ireland.

At the end of March the Parent Teacher Association arranged a dance to raise funds towards a sensory garden and outdoor playground for the children and the school. Jimmy Buckley and his band entertained the audiences and everyone danced the night away. There was also a monster raffle on the night. The whole night was a great success.

The parent teacher association, children and all staff at St Gabriel’s school would like to thank everyone who supported them at this event. First and foremost they would like to thank Jimmy Buckley and his band for generously donating their time and talents for the benefit of the school. They thank the Greenhills Hotel who accommodated them for the event. They also want to thank all the companies who sponsored prizes for the raffle on the night. They thank all those who supported the school on the night by attending the benefit dance, and all those who couldn’t be present but supported them by buying tickets and raffle tickets.

Lastly they would like to thank everyone who helped with planning and preparation for the night and made the evening the great success that it was. Thank you!

The funds raised on the evening will go towards a sensory garden and outdoor playground for the children and the school. If anyone would like to learn more about the school or get involved with fundraising for this project, please contact the school at 061-302733
