One of the top Greyhound racing events in the country returns to Limerick this October. The 2015 Kerry Agribusiness Irish St. Leger Final is set to take place in Limerick Greyhound Stadium this Halloween night, October 31.

The event, which is one of Ireland’s major Classic Greyhound Racing events, carries a total prize fund of over €60,000. The first and second rounds of the Irish St. Leger race take place on Saturday October 3 and October 10 respectively. The Quarter Finals will run the following Saturday, October 17, and the Semi-Finals on October 24, all leading up to the huge Irish St. Leger Final on Halloween night, October 31.

Get into the Halloween spirit by getting to Limerick Greyhound Stadium on October 31 and dressing up in the best fancy dress costume you can think of, the perfect venue to start your Halloween celebrations before you dance the night away! A free shuttle bus service runs to and from Limerick City allowing Halloween partygoers a hassle free way to continue the partying once racing draws to a close.

There will be a prizes on the night for best dressed from The Castleoaks Hotel, L’Occitane, One For All, The South Court Hotel and Woodlands Hotel & Spa plus a special children’s prize on the night from Delta Adventure City.

The Irish St. Leger race had run in the month of November in recent years but is being held earlier this year and is now perfectly timed to coincide with the Halloween weekend.

The stadium restaurant and admission packages are available to book now for all stages of the competition, including the final. People are encouraged to book their tickets early to avoid disappointment. Doors open at 6:30pm, first race at 7:40pm with last race at 10:30pm. The stadium remains open post-racing, but this finishing time also allows customers to continue to enjoy a night out in Limerick’s many pubs and clubs.

Dublin Coach provides a complimentary shuttle bus service every Saturday night of the St. Leger competition, so you can enjoy free transport from Jerry O’Dea’s Pub, Mulgrave Street 7pm, Limerick City Hotel (Formerly Jury’s Inn) 7.15pm, Clarion Hotel, Dock Road 7.20pm. The shuttle bus return time is 10.30pm to all three locations.

This is the 13th running of the event with Kerry Agribusiness as title sponsors. The Classic has been running since 1944 in Limerick, and is run over a distance of 550yds.
