St Michaels Rowing Club to Host Solar and Energy Efficiency Exhibition Saturday, May 3
St Michaels Rowing Club (SMRC) announces a truly innovative fundraising event taking place on Saturday, May 3rd, at their clubhouse on O’Callaghan’s Strand

Coinciding with the lively Riverfest Limerick celebrations, SMRC will host a Solar & Energy Efficiency exhibition from 12:00 to 18:00, offering a captivating experience for locals and visitors alike while raising funds for the club’s activities.
This pioneering initiative promises to stand out among conventional fundraising methods. SMRC is embracing sustainability and innovation with an energy-themed showcase. Andrew O’Connell, the chief organiser of the event, expressed his enthusiasm:
“Rather than pack bags in Dunnes or sell raffle tickets, SMRC are raising money for the club by hosting an Energy Show at our clubhouse! This will be of huge interest to the public and will be a fantastic attraction on the Riverfest weekend in Limerick, the Sporting Capital of the Midwest.”
The event will feature an impressive lineup of exhibitors from the energy and sustainability sectors, including Solar Installers, Kelly RAC, Panasonic, Growatt, Finucane Electrical, EV HACS, Engineers Ireland, and Limerick Motor Centre Hyundai. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in solar energy, energy-efficient solutions, and electric vehicles, as well as discover practical ways to reduce energy consumption and save costs at home and in business.
SMRC have agreed on bulk discounts with these solar suppliers! They are chosen for quality of work and after sales service. Discuss the potential for panels and batteries to see how solar can save you 12 to 14 per cent on your investment!
The Solar & Energy Efficiency Show is designed to engage and educate, making it a must-visit for families, energy enthusiasts, and anyone interested in sustainable living. Interactive displays, product demonstrations, and informative talks will provide valuable insights into the future of energy solutions. Visitors can explore exciting technologies, including solar panels, heat pumps, and electric bikes, presented by industry-leading companies.
Tickets for the event are priced at just €10, which includes entry into a prize draw—ensuring the show is both accessible and rewarding. The prize is a Growatt 1500 PowerStation and 2 solar panels worth €1000! Proceeds from ticket sales will contribute directly to SMRC’s fundraising efforts, supporting their initiatives and enhancing their impact within the community.
Riverfest Limerick has long been celebrated as a vibrant showcase of culture, sport, and entertainment, and the Solar & Energy Efficiency Show adds another unique layer to the festival’s appeal. St. Michael’s Rowing Club, with its deep-rooted connection to the community, is proud to bring this exciting event to life and inspire conversations around sustainability and innovation.
Mark your calendars for May 3rd and join SMRC at O’Callaghan’s Strand for a day of discovery and fun. The Solar & Energy Efficiency Show is more than a fundraiser—it’s an opportunity to learn, connect, and support your local community.
