St Munchin's College Fashion Show - 2013 (7)St Munchin’s College Corbally schools Parents Council continue to support the on-going development of the College, this time by organising a fashion show in association with the Holman Lee Agency that happened at The Strand Hotel on Wednesday October 16th. David Quilter (principal) said “We are obviously delighted with the new amenities and facilities that have been coming on stream over the last 2 years. All of these advances aim to support the students of the College to benefit to the greatest extent from their time here. We are however anxious to continue to roll out state of the art facilities and this fashion Show will allow us to do this.”

St Munchins College is the diocesan college for Limerick. It is also the oldest Limerick school having been founded in 1796. The College recently marked its 50thanniversary of its relocation to Corbally from Limerick city centre.

For the past two years the College has been undergoing extensive redevelopment and expansion. The €7.8 million project was designed by Healy Partners Architects and work is being carried out by L & M Keating. The complete refurbishment has seen numerous spacious classroom delivered as well three new science labs, three new IT labs and a sports hall. Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
