St Pauls NS students are supporting their classmate Dylan through a fundraising raffle in support of a charity after Dylan was diagnosed with cancer
Ms Keane’s 6th class at St Paul’s NS are rallying behind their classmate, Dylan Kelly, by holding a fundraising raffle that supports two national cancer charities after Dylan was diagnosed with cancer.
The class said they hoped to do something “meaningful to support him and other children” being treated for cancer, with the proceeds from the raffle raising funds for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, the National Children’s Cancer Charity.
Selling raffle tickets through iDonate, the class said, “Recently, one of our classmates was diagnosed with cancer, and we wanted to do something meaningful to support him and other children with cancer going through such a difficult journey. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie provides vital practical and financial support to families of children battling cancer across Ireland.”

The fundraiser has seen the children gain support from many local businesses with raffle prizes and sponsorship, as well as Keating’s CarePlus Pharmacy pledging to match every Euro raised, up to €2,500.
With the total raised at €3,618 as of June 12, 2026, the total will now surpass the €6,000 mark with the sponsorship support.
The class said, “Every raffle ticket sold will help raise funds for this wonderful charity and show our friend and other children with cancer that our whole school community is behind them.”
Dylan’s mother, Laura, says she hopes the children involved in the fundraiser “know they too made a difference”.
She said, “His wonderful friends, classmates, teacher, and school community have arranged a raffle to raise money for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. A charity that supports children with cancer and their families throughout treatment, be it day patient or inpatient on St John’s Ward in Crumlin.”
She highlighted their efforts in approaching businesses to gain support for the raffle, which will “support all children receiving treatment”.
She said, “They provide all types of practical, emotional, financial support that you can think of and will go above and beyond to be of help in any way they can to families trying to navigate life with a child who has been diagnosed with cancer.
“I would love not just to help them raise as much as possible for charity but for the children involved in organising this amazing gesture of support to know THEY too made a difference to these children and their families by holding this raffle and doing the work they’ve done to make it a success.”
With more than 35 spot prizes already up for grabs, the raffle has shown a true community coming together to support children across the country, as well as their friend, Dylan.
