Stanzas is an event for emerging writers to express themselves, develop their craft, and meet interesting, like-minded people. It is based in the Limerick City area, and takes place on the third Friday of every month. This July, Stanzas will host a three day event called ‘Weekend of Words’ that will feature events and readings throughout the city. Stanzas weekend of words is a celebration of Stanzas one year anniversary since its creation. This weekend of words will take place over Fri 17, Sat 18 and Sun 19. As a part of this weekend, eight guests will be coming down for poetry, spoken work, stories, comedy, music and a little bit of vegan and vegetarian lunch. Writers of all kinds are welcome, to either participate and speak on the open mic or just to listen in and immerse themselves in other people’s creativity. Stanzas encourages everyone to have fun and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Handy little Stanzas notebooks have been made, featuring its unique logo, and will be handed out over the weekend for people to ‘write those mad poems into.”
