Startup Grind Limerick Returns with Bi-Monthly Networking Event

The World’s Largest community of entrepreneurs Startup Grind launched a new season of its Limerick Chapter at Bank of Ireland Workbench ahead of the first event which takes place at the same venue next Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 6 pm. Startup Grind is focused on driving greater engagement in the local entrepreneurial community primarily through hosting events centred around a fireside chat with a local entrepreneur in an intimate and casual setting.

The event which takes place every 2 months will kick off with special guest Dr Paddy Finn, Managing Director of Electricity Exchange. The EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for 2018 is the co-founder of one of Ireland’s leading providers of smart grid technology and services which has grown its team from 2 to 24 in just over 5 years culminating in the semi-state Bord na Mona purchasing a 50% stake in the company in 2016.

Startup Grind will be hosted by Chapter Directors Peter Hunt of ActionPoint and Gillian Barry of LIT, both of whom are active contributors in the Startup Ecosystem. Gillian through her work as Head of Innovation at L.I.T and also as one of the organisers of the 2015 Startup Gathering, Peter through events like monthly meetup Founder Friday and popular startup hackathon, Startup Weekend. The event is sponsored by long-time Startup Grind supporter, CPL Resources.

At the launch of the event, Peter Hunt said that “Gillian and I are really excited to carry on the great work started by our predecessor Pat Carroll of Bank of Ireland. The event aims to bring together entrepreneurs from companies big and small but we also encourage people of all occupations and backgrounds to come along, network, share ideas and hopefully gain some inspiration from some of the great local and national entrepreneurial minds of our time.”
