Stephen Hall discusses ‘The Wayfinders’ filming at Troy Studios and the importance of the studio for local employment opportunities in film

Production has wrapped on Wayfinders season one at Limerick’s Troy Studios, with production now underway for a second season, with filming slated to begin in early to mid-2026.
Producer Stephen Hall told I Love Limerick he is “so excited” for the season two project to begin. He said, “ At this stage, I’m so excited because now it’s taken its first steps into the world. We’re on season two, and now we’re actually able to kind of start to talk about it a little bit more, because obviously, on season one, it’s a little hush-hush, but now we can shout about it, which is really exciting.”
Describing the journey as “a thousand steps,” Hall credited the success of the production to the collaborative efforts of Limerick’s film community, noting, “ It was kind of a journey of a thousand steps, but thankfully it was walked with more than just me. There were a lot of people who have been making things here in Limerick for years and years; they’re all part of that journey.
“A lot of these people are working on the show because we’re all passionate about being able to make something of this scale and of this. Type of quality and put it on a world stage.”
A strong emphasis has been placed on local talent, with cast and crew drawn from the region, with the producer saying it is important that Limerick and the wider region is represented on a global stage.

He told I Love Limerick’s Richard Lynch, “ I think a really key part of it is it’s amazing to be able to live where you work in film. That’s so rare. So I think it’s really special to be able to have that here. We have an amazing place like Troy Studios, so why wouldn’t we think about putting something in there and putting something excellent in there so that it can thrive.”
Stephen Hall said he hopes productions such as Wayfinders will inspire others to pursue careers in the industry. Teasing at his plans for the future, the producer/director/screenwriter said, “ My dream for the future is I really want to work towards directing another horror film.”
