This August Dance Limerick are hosting Summer Dance Fusion which offers a unique opportunity for young people to experience exciting fusions of dance styles.

This Summer Youth Project for kids aged 13 years and over will involve an intensive two-week project incorporating a wide array of dance styles from all around the world.

The project will be led by Dublin Youth Dance Company’s Justine Doswell and Limerick based Street Dancer Tobi Omoteso.

The participants will work in a fun, creative and supportive environment and learn basic technique and movement vocabulary as well as developing physical strength, coordination and confidence.

Funded by the Arts Council and Limerick City Council, Dance Limerick is a support and development organisation.

Through a combination of performance platforms, residency opportunities, master classes, talks and lectures, Dance Limerick advocates for artistic dialogue and exchange. In collaboration with dance artists across a range of practices, Dance Limerick promotes the creation of new and innovative work and devises programmes of access, engagement and participation for the wider public.

The price for a place in the Summer Dance Fusion is €100 plus a booking fee. No previous dance experience is required so all are welcome.

There will be daily sessions from Tuesday, August 8 to Friday, August 11 and from Monday, August 14 to Friday, August 18. These sessions will start at 10 am and finish at 3 pm.

The rehearsal will be on Sunday, September 17 leading up to the Summer Dance Fusion Culture Night Performance on Friday, September 22.
