Registration deadlines are fast approaching and Limerick City and County Council is making a fresh call on all individuals, groups, and businesses to join this significant community effort as it celebrates its 10th year.

The deadline to register for schools and businesses is 31st March and for volunteer groups the deadline is 7th April. To register, visit here.

This year, volunteers are encouraged to invite new neighbours to join them to help foster a sense of pride in their community and care for the local environment. To support this, TLC will provide supplies for tea and coffee gatherings at various locations throughout the city and county.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran says the initiative continues to achieve impressive results, stating:

“We are thrilled to once again play a pivotal role supporting this great community initiative. I commend the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, Council staff, Mr Binman and volunteers across the city and county for all they do to make this initiative a cornerstone of community pride and environmental stewardship in Limerick. TLC aligns perfectly with our vision for a more liveable and desirable Limerick as outlined in our More for Limerick Programme. But it is not just about the 18th April, I encourage everyone to participate and help make Limerick a cleaner, better place for all every day.”

Príomh Comhairleoir of Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Dan McSweeney added:

“People of all ages wearing hi-vis vests and volunteering to pick up litter in towns and villages across Limerick is a welcome sight each Good Friday. TLC10 provides another fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together, meet new neighbours, and make a positive impact on our local environment. It teaches our young people to take pride in their community and I encourage everyone to register, participate and stay safe.”

Last year, TLC9 saw an impressive 57 tonnes of litter collected by volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including schools, colleges, sports clubs, Munster Rugby, businesses, charities, nursing homes, and local celebrities.

Team Limerick Clean-Up is a partnership initiative between the JP McManus Benevolent Fund and Limerick City and County Council. Endorsed by Paul O’Connell, the official partners include Mr Binman, The Limerick Leader, The Limerick Post, I Love Limerick, Elive, and Limerick’s Live 95.

Registration is now open, with deadlines on 31st March for schools and businesses, and 7th April for volunteer groups. To register, visit here.
