Winners of TLC3’s ‘Make A Big Christmas Tree’ competition were announced today in the Crescent Shopping Centre. Sue Ann Foley, Chair of the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, which sponsored the competition, was joined by teachers and students from the three winning categories. 
The ‘Make A Big Christmas Tree’ competition was launched in October by Paul O’Connell and is part of the Team Limerick Clean Up initiative, where primary schools all across the county were invited to design and decorate a 5ft cardboard tree cut out in order to create greater awareness of the importance of a clean Limerick all year roundThe competition had a total prize fund of €5,000 and today, the first place winners in each category were each presented with vouchers and art equipment hampers. Commenting at the announcement, Sue Ann Foley, Chairperson of the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, said; “this has been an incredible display of artistic talent from the young students of Limerick, huge credit is due to all the students and teachers who worked so hard in creating these masterpieces! It was great that Team Limerick Clean-up could partner with the Crescent Shopping centre on this initiative and I would like to thank John Davitt and his team  for their support in this collaboration.”

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online.
