The Cranberries were honoured with The Icon Award at the 2025 Rolling Stone UK Awards paying tribute to Dolores O’Riordan

Limerick rockers, The Cranberries, have received another prestigious award as Noel Hogan paid tribute to the late Dolores O’Riordan when collecting The Icon Award.
Noel collected the award on behalf of the band at the third annual Rolling Stone UK Awards at London’s Roundhouse on Thursday, November 20.
”It’s kind of weird after all this time that we still get awards. Dolores passed away nearly eight years ago now, and I think it’s testament that the songs have lasted so long,” Said Noel when collecting the Icon Award.
He added, “When we were kids starting out in Limerick, you know, we never thought that we would be a band that would last very long. Not to mind that our songs would last for 30-something years now.”
Paying tribute to the late Dolores O’Riordan, Noel noted that the singer “would’ve loved something like this tonight”, and he also noted that fellow bandmates Michael and Fergal “wish they could be here as well”.
Noting the longevity of their music, Noel said, “It’s still kind of amazing to hear new young bands doing cover versions of our songs. This means a lot to us.”
The night was capped off with a special performance of Linger with Noel joining Australian duo Royel Otis, who went viral for their cover of the song earlier in the year.
Also recognised for an award on the night was fellow Irish musician, Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof, who took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.
