Life is a cabaret for The GAFF fundraising dinner on Sunday, November 16
The GAFF has announced a cabaret-style fundraiser dinner in support of the group’s new home on Lord Edward Street

The GAFF is inviting the public to an evening of cabaret and fine dining with live performances from some of Limerick’s well-known talent, as the group aims to raise funds towards their new home on Lord Edward Street.
As part of the group’s ongoing fundraising campaign to complete work on the new space at the historic building on Lord Edward Street, The GAFF is inviting supporters to help raise funds through the special cabaret-style dinner on Sunday, November 16, from 5 PM to 9 PM.
With tickets priced at €65, guests will be treated to a four-course meal with a side of cabaret performances from Limerick’s Jean McGlynn, Myles Breen, Gillian Hunt, and Padhraic Hastings, each bringing their own sense of flair to what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
The refurbishment aims to create a creative hub with a number of artist workspaces of different sizes, providing Limerick’s performing artists from theatre to film with vital creative spaces.
Organisers said, “We are most grateful to these artists who are giving of their time to help us in our fundraising efforts as we embrace phase 2 of our capital development programme. When complete, the building will house four artists’ workspaces of various sizes. Already our main workspace has seen rehearsals, set builds, workshops, talks and small performance events. The addition of three new workspaces will offer performing artists in the Limerick area access to studios where they can create and develop their work in theatre, film and multidisciplinary fields.”
The project has been made possible through the support of a number of groups, with The GAFF taking time to thank all of those involved, “We acknowledge, with gratitude, contributions from the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, Limerick City and County Council and the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and College Players, all of whom have made this project possible with funding support.”
The group highlighted the 35-year lease given to them by Limerick City and County Council for the historic property.
Looking to the near future as the project enters its next phase, The GAFF said, “We are now in the final stages of fundraising and look forward to an evening of celebration with music and dinner in our new home.”
