The Milk Market are spreading the love this February with their “Love Limerick Weekend.” From Friday February 19 to Sunday February 21, Limericks Milk Market will be asking the people of Limerick, what it is they love most about Limerick.
Taking place the weekend after Valentine’s Day the Milk Market is inviting everyone to continue sharing the love. All weekend there will be message boards at the Milk Market where people will be able to write what it is they love about limerick. You can also contribute on social media by hash tagging #LoveLimerick.
The Limerick Milk Market has chosen Console as their beneficiary for the weekend. David Fitzgerald, Manager of Limerick Milk Market said, “Console is a national organisation supporting people in suicidal crisis and those bereaved by suicide through professional counselling, support and helpline services. We really felt they were a worthwhile organisation who needed our support.”
Everyone will receive a free raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a hamper on the Sunday. However people are invited to make a donation if they wish to do so, as there will be collection buckets on the day, and all proceeds will go to Console.
Many other organisations around Limerick will also be getting involved, including Eat in Limerick, Limerick Music Generation, Val’s Kitchen and I Love Limerick.
Eat in Limerick, supported by GGL Security and LEO, is the brainchild of Olivia O’Sullivan, who is also a member of the Limerick food group. Olivia saw a need to bring the local food scene together and served it up under one tasty promotional umbrella.
Music Generation Limerick City is all about helping children access music education so that music is in the heart and soul of young people all across the county. Music Generation Limerick City is run by the Limerick City Music Education Partnership and hosts an incredible team of musicians. This team of musicians ensure that they instill confidence in young people so that they can express themselves and to perform.
Val’s Kitchen is one of the longest running food blogs in Ireland, owned by local food lover, bestselling author and food blogger Valerie O’ Connor. Valerie’s story is one of following your passion can turn into an exciting career.
I Love Limerick will be present on the day taking family photos, at what is set to be a great weekend.
There will be a number of sports, art, cultural and historical organisations based at the market that weekend. Keep an eye on I Love Limerick and The Milk Markets social media accounts for updates and use the hashtag #LoveLimerick.
