The Mills housing development in Castletroy is nearing completion by Meitheal Architects in partnership with Cairn
Award-winning architecture and urban design group, Meitheal Architects announced ‘The Mills’ housing development in Castletroy is set to be fully complete by the end of September.
The completion of the project, delivering 224 new homes, has been in partnership with construction company Cairn with “many units already occupied”.
made up of 1-to-3 bedroom apartments, duplexes, and semi-detached houses, the new housing development will cater to a broad spectrum of residents and tenures.
The site will be connected to Limerick City Centre through a newly proposed bus route and is strategically placed near the town centre, it will also be connected regionally through the M7.
The Mills are also within walking distance of childcare and education faicilities such as creches, schools, the University of Limerick; the area also includes parks, sports facilities, shopping centres, and a cinema.
In addition, the site features the Castletroy Urban Greenway, a strategic corridor that enhances pedestrian and cyclist access to local amenities. This accessibility is complemented by distinctive urban design, landscaped courtyards, and pedestrian-oriented linkages that enhance social spaces and connectivity.
