Following years of heartbreak and an over 50-year wait between All-Ireland titles, Limerick supporters have been enjoying a time of titles and challenges since a breakthrough season in 2018, winning their first All-Ireland title since 1973 and going on to win four more titles from 2020 to 2023.
Speaking about the release, Martyn said it is five years in the making and was written in 2025; the song features children from national schools around Limerick City & County.
As part of a 10 Questions segment with I Love Limerick in 2021, Martyn spoke about his musical influence growing up, he said, “My passion possibly started from our Sunday drives with my parents, and I would be singing in the back seat to my dad’s country songs. I didn’t realise how much I had a real love for it till at age 18 I stepped on a karaoke stage on a holiday in Ibiza and couldn’t get off it.”
