Tolü Makay said, “I’ve always loved the magic of live performance, and taking part in my very first pantomime is something really special.”

University Concert Hall, Limerick, together with Specsavers Limerick and producer Robert C. Kelly, announce that acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Tolü Makay will make her first-ever pantomime appearance this Christmas, starring as the magical Fairy in Jack and the Beanstalk.

One of Ireland’s most celebrated vocalists, Tolü has captivated audiences across the country and abroad with her powerhouse performances and has become one of the nation’s most recognisable musical talents. Now, for the very first time, she is bringing her voice, warmth and charisma to the UCH stage for a spectacular festive adventure.

Tolü Makay said, “I’ve always loved the magic of live performance, and taking part in my very first pantomime is something really special. I can’t wait to meet audiences at University Concert Hall Limerick this Christmas, wave my magic wand, and be part of such a wonderful family Christmas tradition.”

Tolü joins an outstanding cast including TV personality John Sharpson playing Seamus, Panto legend Myles Breen as Dame Trot, Keith Hanley as Fleshcreep, Chris Currid as Pat the Cow, Cian O’ Riain as Jack and Caoileann Faith as Jill.

“We’re delighted to welcome Tolü to the UCH family. She is one of Ireland’s most exciting performers and we know audiences are going to fall in love with her as our magical Fairy.

Now in its 15th year, the UCH pantomime has become one of the Midwest’s most cherished traditions, welcoming thousands of families every festive season. Packed with spectacular costumes, laugh-out-loud comedy, chart-topping songs and plenty of festive magic, Jack and the Beanstalk promises another unforgettable Christmas at UCH Limerick.

This Christmas, get ready to climb our Beanstalk, meet unforgettable characters and share the laughter, music and magic that only a UCH panto can bring.

This year’s University Concert Hall Pantomime, Jack and The Beanstalk takes place from 14th December 2026 to 10th January 2027 with tickets from €24 | Matinee & Evening Shows.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
