WATCH US Based Software company Transact Campus is to create 110 jobs in Limerick

110 new jobs are to be created in Limerick City by the US education payment software firm Transact Campus.

The next-generation digital campus project will serve as the company’s international headquarters with responsibility for shaping and developing the company’s portfolio of products and services.

Through market-leading transaction and privilege management software and innovative payment solutions, Transact enables a connected experience across the spectrum of student life. They partner with many different institutions to deliver a mobile-centric, personalised student and family experience both on and off-campus.

Transact plans to invest in multiple core work streams that will exploit de-coupled microservice architectures, cloud-based data analytics, CQRS patterns, asynchronous event-based integration models, data streaming, data lakes, and Al-linked analysis.

The company serves more than 1,300 education institutions representing over 12 million students and facilitating more than 46 billion dollars in annual education-related payments. Transact’s software services include tuition and fee bill presentation and payment, student payment plans, open and closed-loop student credential-based point-of-sale transactions for both on and off-campus, as well as ensuring secure authorized access to campus facilities and events.

The firm is based in Arizona and is now opening its first Irish part of the company. Roles available with Transact are in the areas of Product Managers, Architects, Scrum Masters, UX Designers, Front End Developers, Back End Developers, IOS and Android Developers, DevOps Engineers, Software Developers, Development Engineers in Test, and Data Scientists.

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Michael Collins has welcomed the announcement today that Transact Campus INC is to locate its international headquarters in Limerick with the creation of 110 jobs.

The announcement, the Mayor said reaffirms Limerick’s attractiveness for inward investment, even in this time of uncertainty.

“Foreign direct investment is always hugely welcome so to have an international company announce 110 new jobs for Limerick is a huge vote of confidence in the city and region.”

 

“The uncertainty that exists due to COVID-19 and Brexit has cast a shadow over the Irish economy and for Limerick to be breaking through with this announcement gives us further reason to be confident as we pick up momentum again. We are delighted that Transact Campus with John Gleeson and his team have chosen Limerick, and particularly delighted for the 110 people who will gain employment because of this.

“My and the local authority’s intention now is to ensure we do whatever we can to make sure that there is more to come by way of FDI announcements as we move into 2021 and beyond,” said the Mayor.

Mayor Collins thanked the IDA Ireland for its efforts and said that the investment reflects what can be achieved through a spirit of partnership.

“A huge amount of work is put into securing wins like this, not least by IDA Ireland in terms of the relationships they forge, and we benefit from. We must commend the IDA Ireland and its Mid-West Manager Will Corcoran as well as the efforts of Limerick City and County Council and, indeed, the business community here. Collectively, we have developed a very competitive, pro-business ecosystem and all of these together amount to a very compelling invitation to companies looking to establish European bases or international headquarters outside of their home country.

“We’ve clearly made that case to Transact Campus and now they have taken us up on this ‘invitation’. Our job is to work together to ensure that their investment here surpasses expectations. I look forward to welcoming them to Limerick in person at the earliest opportunity and helping to build a mutually beneficial relationship.”

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment Leo Varadkar welcomed the announcement and praised the Irish people for their highly sought-after skill and talent in the workforce. The Tánaiste also wished Transact well on their future endeavours in Limerick.
