The GAFF and Creative Communities Midwest present: TRANSITIONS 6 which takes place on 4 and 5 October, a two-day conference featuring artists’ collectives that provides a space for dialogue and exchange between artists.
The GAFF, through Creative Communities Midwest, has hosted TRANSITIONS since 2020 as a platform for artists and communities to explore different ways of creating work.
This year, in partnership with Dance Limerick, TRANSITIONS 6 brings together established and emerging collectives from Ireland and the UK for two days of performance, and conversations.

Guest Artists include leading figures from Assemble (London), The Guest House (Cork), and from Limerick, The Parsley Collective, Concept Null, and Eyebright Collective. Together, they will offer unique insights into their working models and creative processes.
Taking place over two days, the event invites attendees to interrogate the fundamental components of collectives, exploring how different collectives function in contemporary times. Through a mix of presentations, performances, and open discussions, participants will engage directly with the structures and stories that allow collectives to function.
October 4th at Dance Limerick, the event opens with a performance by The Parsley Collective, current Artists-in-Residence at Dance Limerick. This will be followed by a presentation from Concept Null, leading into an open-form discussion where attendees are encouraged to engage and contribute.
October 5th The GAFF hosts a performance-installation by the emerging Eyebright Collective. The programme continues with presentations from internationally renowned collective Assemble (London) and The Guesthouse (Cork), a legacy project from Cork’s City of Culture in 2005.
Following each day’s presentations, attendees will be invited into open discussions with space for critical reflection and conversation.
TRANSITIONS 6 is a celebration of artist collectives and artists, arts workers, and the wider community are welcome to join us. Light refreshments are provided throughout.
The GAFF is a resource for community, voluntary and professional arts in Limerick. Facilitating direct connection between artists, communities and the wider public. This event is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland and Limerick Arts Office.
