Treaty Cabs Limerick launch new app for customers

Treaty Cabs, a fast and reliable taxi service located on Davis St in Limerick City, celebrated its 24 year in business this year by recently unveiling a new service for its customers.

Treaty Cabs Limerick launch new app to give customers the option to download the app to discover where the closest available taxi is, and to then get in contact with the driver. Through the app, titled ‘Treaty Cabs Limerick’, details such as: the driver’s photograph, vehicle type and languages spoken, will then be made available to the customer.

Speaking about the app, Jude Williams, proprietor of Treaty Cabs, said: “If you have no credit it’s very handy.. It’s just one press of a button, it’s easy to download and the only information you need to give is your name and phone number.

“There will be a credit card facility, so you can register your credit card details with us and then you can pay by credit card every time you book with us”.

Cork developers, Nixatel, created the ‘PickACab’ service in 2011, to protect both user and taxi driver with this traceable app. For the past 6 months, Treaty Cabs have worked with ‘PickACab’ to provide a safe, reliable and easy to use service for their customers. The app was launched for android this June, and will be available for iPhone users in early July.

Managing and maintaining a successful business for 24 years in today’s economy is no easy task, though there may be some secrets to running a thriving and ever-evolving service: “We’ve very customer focused. I think it helps that it’s more or less a family run business, and that we’re the oldest taxi company in Limerick.. And the Cheapest!”

The company is also one of the few taxi services in Limerick that offer set rates, an offer that surely plays a part in the success of the business: “We have set prices, so the customer knows the price before they even get into the car. We were the first company to introduce set rates here in 1991.”
