Treaty United have chosen Down Syndrome Limerick as its charity partner for their upcoming Munster Derby as they host Cork City this Saturday, March 29

Treaty United has announced that Down Syndrome Limerick will be their Charity Partner as they host Cork City this coming Saturday at the Markets Field in a Munster Derby which kicks off at 3PM.
The home side currently occupies 5th place in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, just one point behind the league leaders, while the visitors are in 8th.
Sean Russell will be hoping that his side returns to winning ways after last week’s defeat to Shamrock Rovers. Treaty started that game really well and went one up through captain Jillian O’Toole and should really have extended their lead before the home side equalised coming up to half-time.
Treaty had chances to equalise after Shamrock Rovers had taken the lead early in the second half but the hosts wrapped up the points late on. After two weeks in a row in the capital, Treaty will be hoping that a return to home comforts will see them take the 3 points on offer.
The visitors also tasted defeat last weekend when they went down to champions Athlone Town. The Cork side have one win from their opening 3 games. Christina Dring is in fine form having grabbed a brace against Sligo Rovers. The former Carrigaline United schoolgirl has been on the books of the senior side since the summer of 2017 and has a keen eye for goal.
The sides last met on the 31st of August 2024 at the Markets Field when Treaty United ran out 3-0 winners. Caleigh Boeckx and Danielle Steer had Treaty in a commanding lead at the break before Katie Lawlee sealed all three points with the third and final goal ten minutes from full-time.
There will be a lot of familiar faces meeting up on Saturday. Cork City’s Fiana Bradley, Jesse Mendez and Heidi O’Sullivan have all previously lined out for Treaty United. Treaty United’s Kate O’Donovan and Katie Irwin have both played for Cork City in the past.
It all points to an exciting encounter so get yourself down to the Markets Field on Saturday afternoon and don’t forget to wear odd socks in support of charity partner Down Syndrome Limerick.
