Newly appointed Managing Director with Treaty United FC, Ian McMahon, issued a statement looking to the club’s future ahead of the new year, bringing a renewed focus on rebuilding, stabilising, and strengthening the club, with an overall aim of community connection and longterm sustainability.

The club entered a new chapter following the appointment of the managing director in November 2025, and following a first month in charge, Mr McMahon is optimistic for the future,

In a statement, he said, “This is a club with deep roots, passionate supporters and enormous potential – and it belongs to the people of Limerick and the Mid-West. My approach is simple: to help rebuild, stabilise and strengthen Treaty United so that it reflects the pride, ambition and identity of this community.”

As a priority, the newly appointed Managing director says he aims to listen to members of the club and its wifer supporters including volunteers, supporters, local businesses, academy staff and parents.

He said, “The identity of this club has to come from the people of Limerick, not from behind a desk – and I want Treaty United to feel open, welcoming and connected again. Over the coming weeks and months, I will be meeting with community groups, grassroots clubs, past volunteers, fans and local stakeholders as part of a broad listening and reconnection effort.”

Reiterating the importance of the community connection, McMahon said that he welcomes the views of the “many great people” who have contributed to the club over the years, saying his “door is open to reconnect”.

He said, “A strong, community-powered club is built on respect, collaboration and shared purpose and I intend to rebuild that foundation.”

Looking to the future, he said, “We will put strong processes and structures in place, build a stable culture and create a clear pathway for local talent to develop and thrive. My focus – and the club’s focus – is inward: on our players, our volunteers, our academy and our supporters. That is where success comes from and that is where our energy will go.
