The annual Christmas Marketlink Fair brought festive cheer to Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Moylish campus last Thursday, November 28th, as students from the Department of Marketing, Enterprise & Digital Communications hosted a vibrant Christmas fair raising €3,500 for Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention.
Marketlink, a practical initiative within the Marketing and Management Degree programme, offers students an opportunity to develop and promote their own business ideas while supporting local charities. This year’s event was a resounding success, raising €3,500 for Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention, a vital charity organisation dedicated to mental health support.
Attendees enjoyed a range of creative stalls, showcasing the students’ entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to making a difference. Each year, Marketlink fosters collaboration, innovation, and community impact, embodying the true spirit of the holiday season.
Head of the Department for Marketing, Enterprise & Digital Communications at TUS, Dr. James Griffin, says, “This year’s Christmas Marketlink event is a shining example of the incredible talent, dedication, and community spirit of our students. Raising €3,500 for Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention is a testament to their hard work and commitment to giving back.”
Programme Leader, Ms. Gillian Clogan: “Marketlink allows all of our first-year Business Studies students to develop practical skills in entrepreneurship, marketing, and management. It perfectly balances professional growth with social impact, teaching TUS students the importance of using their talents and learning to make a positive difference.”
Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention is a registered charity made up entirely of volunteers, who patrol the bridges of Limerick city four nights a week to assist those who are struggling and may be at risk of suicide.
