Twilight Thursdays return for 2026, returning this Thursday, 29 January with an exciting and culturally rich programme

Limerick City and County Council is delighted to bring Twilight Thursdays back for 2026, returning this Thursday, 29 January with an exciting and culturally rich programme that marks the beginning of a brand‑new year of after‑dark experiences across the city.
Twilight Thursdays – part of the national Night-Time Economy pilot programme – supports a vibrant, safe, and welcoming city after dark, encouraging people to stay later, explore more, and enjoy Limerick’s growing evening economy.
January’s programme spans dozens of venues citywide, offering something for every taste. People can look forward to an exciting mix of live music, creative workshops, food and drink specials, wellbeing sessions, comedy, games, and family‑friendly entertainment across the city.
Celebrating St. Brigid
Taking place on the eve of the St Brigid’s Day Bank Holiday Weekend, this month’s Twilight Thursdays programme also includes a number of specially themed experiences marking the approach of St. Brigid’s Day, such as traditional storytelling inspired by the life and lore of St. Brigid, hands‑on craft workshops reimagining the iconic St. Brigid’s Cross, and seasonal cultural gatherings that nod to the themes of renewal and creativity associated with the festival of Imbolc.
Together, these events sit naturally within a vibrant line‑up that offers something for everyone as Limerick comes alive after dark.
A Thank You to Contributors and the Public
Limerick City and County Council extends sincere thanks to the many local businesses, cultural partners, artists, community groups, and volunteers who continue to embrace the Twilight Thursday concept month after month. Their creativity, commitment, and enthusiasm are what make each edition unique.
We also want to thank the thousands of people who show up every month, whose support ensures the continued success and growth of the initiative. The strong public response plays a central role in fostering a lively, welcoming night‑time environment in the heart of the city.
