University of Limerick is celebrating the achievements of more than 2,000 students this week as they welcome the graduands for the 2026 Winter Conferring Ceremonies.
A total of 2,038 students, including 78 PhDs, will graduate from University of Limerick this week, which will include some notable figures in what is a celebration for students as well as their families as the cohort of graduates will now join the university’s alumni of more than 140,000.
Students from the faculties of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Kemmy Business School, Science and Engineering, and Education and Health Sciences, along with a cohort of more than 50 Garda College graduates will be conferred across three days.
Included in the 2026 Winter Conferring Ceremonies is the newly conferred Dr Mamobo Ogoro. Driven by her curiosity, her research at UL and her own personal experiences, Mamobo is the founder and CEO of GORM, who is on a mission ‘to unify the world across differences’.
University of Limerick Acting President Professor Shane Kilcommins welcomed the
newly minted graduates into the global community of more than 140,000 UL alumni,
urging them to look upon their degrees as “more than a qualification”.
“It is a responsibility, to yourselves, to your communities, and to the world you will help shape. Carry forward the values that brought you here: curiosity, integrity, courage, and ambition. Use them well. Shape the future with them. Improve lives with them,” said Professor Kilcommins.
