Shine manages the national stigma-reduction programme for Ireland.  An important part of this work is their  annual Green Ribbon Campaign, which is now in its 16th year.

Shine says, “We know that mental health stigma remains a significant barrier to treatment and recovery for individuals and their families with mental illness.  Stigma leads to discrimination, social exclusion, and a lack of support, exacerbating mental health problems and increasing the risk of loss to suicide.”

Limerick Mental Health Association was founded in 2002 by a group of individuals who recognised the need for support and resources for those affected by mental health challenges in the local community.

Since then, the association has worked to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote positive mental health through a variety of programmes and initiatives.

Today, LMHA continues to serve as a vital resource for individuals and families seeking support and guidance on their mental health journey.
