Wolfpack membership grows by over 6,000…and it’s still not too late to join!

For the 10th Year running the University of Limerick Students’ Union’s Recruitment Drive has drawn thousands of new and existing UL Students to the UL Sports Arena. There are very few events that leave you with a promise of a year’s worth of memories, new experiences, accolades and friendships; the Recruitment Drive provides just that. Held on Wednesday 7th September, the dive resulted in a sign up of over 6,000 new memberships. A successful Students’ Union referendum bid in early 2016 means that, even with growing student numbers, clubs and societies will be able to cater for larger membership numbers. With a new student centre and improved facilities on the horizon, the future looks even brighter for the ULSU Wolfpack.

“For the next four years while you work towards your goal of obtaining a degree, the best way to maximise your non-academic time with new people in a fun, interesting and challenging ways is through the huge social network known affectionately as “Clubs & Socs” – that’s 73 different Clubs & Societies. This is our ever growing Wolf Pack”.

ULSU is the representative body for 13,500 UL students. Students automatically become members of the Union upon enrolment, and from that day on the three sabbatical officers (President, Welfare, Academic Officers) as well as the part-time members of the Union’s Executive Committee, do their best to represent and help you with any problems you may have during your time in college. ULSU represents you both within and without the University, as well as providing you with services such as a fortnightly newspaper, welfare and academic advice, a common room, a games room, clubs and societies and much more.

Launching into what we hope to be another successful year of intervarsity wins, expeditions, domestic trips and weekly events the student-led Clubs and Societies of UL will remain open to new membership for the entire year. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
