Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) are calling on the people of Limerick to give their views on the proposed University Avenue project at a public consultation event taking place on Wednesday, March 25.

The event, taking place at Thomond Community College, Moylish Park, Limerick will allow members of the public to give their opinion on the proposed plans for what aims to be a new 650m long pedestrian, cycle and low-speed vehicular link between communities in Moyross and Caherdavin.

The proposal will have a “campus-style feel” throughout with a significant amount of soft landscaping and a number of breakout spaces/plazas in what the planners say will include high-quality public realm, and will link directly to the Active Travel scheme planned for the Old Cratloe Road.

Announcing the public consultation event, LCCC said, “Limerick City and County Council wants to hear your views on two proposed options for University Way, a new Education and Mobility Road Corridor linking Moyross (Moyross Avenue) and Moylish (Old Cratloe Road). This project aims to improve pedestrian, cycle and vehicular access between our communities.”

The Public Consultation Event will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 17:00 to 20:00 at Thomond Community College, Moylish Park, Limerick, V94 V342.

LCCC added, “Your feedback is important. Comment forms will be available at the event, or you can email your views to: [email protected]. Deadline for submissions: Wednesday 1 April 2026. Please include your contact details with your comments. Let’s shape the future of our community together.”

The proposed scheme incorporates the current access road to Thomond Community College (TCC) the adjacent campus of the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and other public and private lands.

The new route will provide a pathway from primary to third-level education between Corpus Christi National School, Thomond Community College and the TUS, Moylish Campus, all located within a 500m space. It also provides sustainable and safe access for the approximately 55 students from Caherdavin currently attending Corpus Christi in Moyross.
