Variance

‘Variance’ lives up to its name by offering viewers a glimpse of the wide variety of subject matter tackled by these early career artists, using highly colourful and illustrative artwork.

The group exhibition will feature the work of 22 artists from LSAD. Aine Nic Giolla Coda, Programme Leader of the Painting Department explained that for several years now, 3rd Year Fine Art students have exhibited work in a variety of venues throughout the city, in an attempt to take on the ‘active learning’ experience that comes with organising a show or an event. “Given the difficulty in the current economic climate where there is a lack of available space, it is admirable how this group of students have worked together to achieve such a professional, innovative and diverse show which takes on a huge range of ideas relevant to their own experience today.

The lecturing staff on the Painting Programme congratulate this group of students for all their effort and hard work and wish them a very successful run with their exhibition ‘Variance’.”

True to its name, this exhibition will offer viewers a glimpse of the wide variety of mediums, techniques and subject matter tackled by these early career artists. With work ranging from the highly colourful and illustrative to more mysterious, subdued paintings and with sculptural and performance pieces thrown into the mix, the exhibition is sure to appeal to everyone.

Work will be available for sale, so make sure you visit while you can and you may end up snapping up artwork by an up and coming Irish artist.
