Crescent Shopping Centre proudly returned to sponsor the 2025 Regeneron Great Limerick Run Volunteers Programme on its record-breaking weekend

The 2025 Regeneron Great Limerick Run marked a historic milestone with over 18,000 runners participating across the weekend – the largest turnout in the event’s history.
As thousands of participants took to the streets of Limerick, over 600 dedicated volunteers played a vital role in ensuring the smooth and successful delivery of the event.
Once again, Crescent Shopping Centre proudly sponsored the event’s Volunteer Programme, helping support a wide network of local clubs and community organisations. This partnership enables groups to raise much-needed funds while also playing a vital role in one of the most anticipated weekends on Limerick’s calendar.
On Thursday afternoon, representatives from volunteer clubs gathered at the Crescent Shopping Centre to receive cheques totalling over €28,000, presented by Centre Manager Brian O’Leary.
Speaking at the presentation, Brian O’Leary said, “Crescent Shopping Centre is proud to return as the Official Sponsor of the Volunteer Programme for the 2025 Regeneron Great Limerick Run. Race day brought incredible energy and excitement to Limerick city, and it was inspiring to see so many volunteers from local clubs and organisations contribute to the day’s success.
“With over €28,000 being awarded to participating clubs from across the region, we view our support as a meaningful investment in the local community. Well done to everyone who made this event such a memorable one”
Volunteer groups took on key roles including water station management, finish line support, medal and refreshment distribution, and route marshalling in partnership with law enforcement.
Managing Director of The Bear Group, Sliabh Wells expressed his gratitude, “The Regeneron Great Limerick Run continues to thrive thanks to the incredible team behind it – especially our volunteers. Without them, this event simply wouldn’t be possible.
“We want to extend an enormous thank you to Crescent Shopping Centre, whose ongoing support of the Volunteer Programme plays a vital role in making this event what it is. This year’s record-breaking success is a true reflection of what can happen when a community comes together.”
The Volunteer Programme stands as a shining example of community partnership, enabling local groups to participate in a premium event while also giving back to their clubs and causes.
