Further Education Students of VTOS Programme Art Exhibition
Art, Craft and Design students undertaking the VTOS programme at the new state-of-the-art Further Education and Training Centre, Kilmallock Road Campus (formally St Enda’s) will hold a one-day exhibition of their artwork on Thursday May 25th from 10 am to 2 pm. The VTOS Programme Art Exhibition will showcase a range of paintings, drawings, crafts, graphic design and photography and represents just a selection of the total creative output of the learners over the past year.
Jayne Foley, Course Leader, commented, “It’s exciting for us to show this work as it’s so important for any artist to have their work viewed by the public. In essence, a public viewing is the final element in the creative process and this gives the budding artists the chance to gauge that reaction.”
Jayne added, “We start out the course in September and the learners develop their skills through equal measures of hard work and encouragement, both from the staff and from each other. At the end of the term we showcase some of the work and this allows others who may be interested in the course to see what we are about.”
The course affords people the opportunity to begin on the road to working in the creative industries and can significantly boost their success rate in moving on to Third level Art Craft Design courses. This year the course introduced Enterprise for Art Craft Design which has provided even greater possibilities for promotion and marketing artworks.
The VTOS Programme Art Exhibition takes place in the Art Studio at the Further Education and Training Centre, Kilmallock Road Campus. There will also be an opportunity for the public to view the newly refurbished former St Enda’s building that is now a vibrant, creative learning hub.
Anyone interested is invited to come along to see the VTOS Programme Art Exhibition, and the building, and to talk to the current class group. If you are interested in enrolling on the course, we can provide you with more information on the day as well as some light refreshments!
