Property owners are encouraged to express their interest in making their publicly visible walls available for Walls of Limerick mural project

Property owners from across Limerick City and County have been invited to express their interest in making external, publicly visible walls available for future mural projects as part of the “Walls of Limerick” initiative.
A spokesperson for Limerick City and County Council said, “Building on the success of Limerick’s celebrated Street Art Trail and the international attention it has received in recent years, we are seeking to expand the number of ‘Walls of Limerick’ available for creative use.”
The project aims to support more large-scale artworks that celebrate the city and county’s unique stories, heritage, communities, and upcoming cultural events.
The group said, “Limerick has long been renowned for its vibrant street art, which has become a distinctive feature of our streetscape and a powerful expression of local identity. These murals have not only brightened our urban spaces but have also acted as cultural touchpoints - attracting visitors, supporting artists, and fostering pride among residents.”
LCCC are now looking for additional large or small walls that could become part of the next chapter of Limerick’s public art journey. Property owners, businesses, community groups, and organisations with suitable exterior walls that are visible from public areas are encouraged to get in touch.
By participating, property owners can support local and visiting artists; enhance public spaces in their community; contribute to Limerick’s cultural and tourism offering; and play a role in visually celebrating our region’s heritage and future.
This expression of interest phase will help the Council identify suitable locations and match them with upcoming mural and cultural projects throughout 2026 and beyond, and interested property owners can register their interest on MyPoint.
LCCC said, “Together, we can continue to bring colour, creativity, and civic pride to the streets of Limerick - one wall at a time.”
