Limerick-based four-piece Alt-Rock band, Waterdogs release their first 2025 single, ‘Stuck’ with more promised for the coming months.
Waterdogs release their first single of the year, ‘Stuck’, with a slew of singles to follow throughout the summer of 2025

Waterdogs is a four-piece Alt-Rock band based in Limerick, Ireland, consisting of Kat Casey (Limerick) on vocals, Aaron Griffin (Limerick) on guitar, Áine Hartnett (Limerick) on bass, and Eoghan Creedon (from Cork, Waterford-based) on drums. Drawing influence from many genres, the sound is commonly described as ‘90s rock, with tracks varying from intense grunge and blues rock, to soft, melodic indie tunes.
The track opens with dulcet guitar tones, a driving bass line, and sparkling drums. This lays the groundwork for the soulful and captivating voice of Kat Casey. As the song continues, the undeniably catchy lyrics pull you further and further into the track’s story, layering vocal harmonies, allowing for a fuller bodied and flavourful entry to the earworm chorus. The lyrics “you always push your luck, but in my head you’re stuck” will echo in your memory for days to come – in an ironic twist of fate. The bridge is perfect for a car-ride sing-a-long, building to the rapturous and explosive final chorus.
Lyrically, ‘Stuck’ discusses a toxic relationship – you know it’s not good for you to stay with this person, but that doesn’t make you want them any less. It’s a tale as old as time, told from a fresh, soft rock perspective.
Lead singer and lyricist for ‘Stuck’, Kat Casey, says: “‘Stuck’ is a song that represents how it feels to be in love with someone who has extremely narcissistic and manipulative traits. It was written about a person in my life who I just couldn’t seem to shake for many years. The whole situation was painful but every time they came back I just kept on forgetting what they put me through. They knew exactly how to talk to me in a way that nobody else could, which naturally made me feel like the only girl in the world. We’d be together for a few months, then not talk for months, and they’d pop up again a while later.
Casey continues: “Most people have that one person where we know exactly how it’s going to end, but choose to do it anyway because we think ‘maybe this time is different’, but it never is. They’re like a soul mate and best friend all in one, but when things go wrong it’s like the end of the world and I feel that this song perfectly captures that whole whirlwind of emotions. This is a song that so many people will be able to relate to, it’s such a common situation that I have seen people in throughout the years.”
Waterdogs debut single ‘Stone Driver’ has received approximately 5.5k streams to date on Spotify alone, received radio play though Limerick’s Live95 and Wired FM, landed itself on Hot Press’ New Irish Songs To Hear This Week playlist, and even scored the group an interview with RTÉ. Their second single, ‘Victim (By Choice)’, a groovy, laid back melody with driving drums and a touch of reggae flair, won over another gaggle of fans, earning them radio play, Hot Press features, and more.
Waterdogs are a regular fixture on Rock Radio UK and have earned support slots with the likes of October Drift, Ren Marabou and the Berserkers, The Luminesc, Outsound, and Theatre. The four-piece have also headlined Pharmacia and Fred Zeppelins.
