The 2026 Women in Film and TV International (WIFTI) global summit comes to Adare Village, County Limerick, from February 4 to 7, 2026

Women in Film and TV (WFT) Ireland and WIFT International are set to host the 2026 Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) Summit, which will welcome more than 60 WIFT chapters and affiliates from across the globe to the beautiful village of Adare, County Limerick, for a landmark event from February 4 to 7, 2026. The the Summit will take place at the Woodlands House Hotel and will welcome senior creatives and executives from around the world for three days of high-level discussion, collaboration and cultural exchange.
Hosted by Women in Film and Television (WFT) Ireland – a registered charity – in partnership with Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI), this landmark event will bring together creative professionals in front of and behind the camera, funders, broadcasters, commissioners, researchers, advocates, senior executives and thought leaders from across the global screen industries.
This international gathering will bring together professionals from across the screen industries, including filmmakers, funders, commissioners, producers, researchers, broadcasters, educators and senior executives, for a celebration of creativity, gender equity, and global collaboration.
The three-day event will feature high-level panels, meaningful debate, networking opportunities, co-production explorations and cultural experiences, all designed to foster real connections, inspire new collaborations, and spotlight female talent on the world stage.
Dr Susan Liddy, President, Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI), said, “I am thrilled that WFT Ireland will host the 2026 Women in Film and Television International Summit in the beautiful and picturesque village of Adare, County Limerick — adjacent to my own home place of Limerick City. Set in the heartland of the Mid-West, a region steeped in Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition and at the gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way, it is a truly fitting location to welcome the global screen community. This Summit is about connection, collaboration and leadership,” she said. “We are bringing together voices from across the world to address equity, innovation, storytelling and the future of the screen industries, while showcasing Ireland’s talent, hospitality, rich landscapes and creative ambition on a global stage.”
She added, “Over three exciting days, we will connect, collaborate, and celebrate the achievements of women across the global screen industries — and together, chart a dynamic and transformative future. Delegates will experience the rich culture, creativity, and warmth of Ireland, where friendship and hospitality are embedded in the spirit of Céad míle fáilte — a hundred thousand welcomes.
Beginning on Wednesday, February 4, the Summit programme opens with its Welcome Evening Networking Reception, giving delegates an introduction to Adare with informal networking, and a taste of Irish hospitality. Continuing on Thursday, February 5, the opening day will feature knowledge-sharing panels with global funders and thought leaders, thematic discussions on equity, co-productions, and storytelling innovation, followed by an Industry Networking Reception and a Networking Dinner with a Cultural Event.

On Friday, February 6, focus will shift to exploring international collaboration, technological innovation, distribution models, and inclusive practice through industry sessions. The day also includes an Industry Networking Reception and a dedicated Co-Production Networking Dinner.
Concluding on Saturday, February 7, the 2026 summit will host a networking breakfast, closing reflections on building a more inclusive industry, and an optional creative excursion, with further details to be announced.
Confirmed participants include WIFTI chapter members from more than 60 countries, leading producers seeking international partners, international funders, screen agencies and production companies, policy and advocacy professionals, talent development experts, and Irish and international speakers. Also announced as a special guest for the summit is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress, with an official announcement to follow.
The Summit was recently marked by Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan TD, who joined Dr Susan Liddy, President of WIFTI and Chair of WFT Ireland, to acknowledge its significance for Ireland’s international reputation in film and television.
Minister O’Donovan said, “Ireland has a strong and growing international reputation for creative excellence, collaboration and innovation in film and television. Hosting the 2026 WIFTI Global Summit in Adare is a significant moment for the sector, bringing global leaders to the Mid-West and reinforcing our commitment to gender equality, diverse storytelling and the future sustainability of the screen industries.”

- Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress Ruth Negga (Passing, Presumed Innocent)
- Academy Award-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor (The Elephant Whisperers, The Lunchbox)
- Actor, director and producer Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds, The Walking Dead)
- Emmy-winning director Dearbhla Walsh (Bad Sisters, Fargo)
- Panellists will include representatives from Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland, TG4, the British Film Institute, Canada Media Fund, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, the Swedish Film Institute, and more.
