Dr Susan Liddy, President, Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI), said, “I am thrilled that WFT Ireland will host the 2026 Women in Film and Television International Summit in the beautiful and picturesque village of Adare, County Limerick — adjacent to my own home place of Limerick City. Set in the heartland of the Mid-West, a region steeped in Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition and at the gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way, it is a truly fitting location to welcome the global screen community.”

She added, “Over three exciting days, we will connect, collaborate, and celebrate the achievements of women across the global screen industries — and together, chart a dynamic and transformative future.  Delegates will experience the rich culture, creativity, and warmth of Ireland, where friendship and hospitality are embedded in the spirit of Céad míle fáilte — a hundred thousand welcomes.

Beginning on Wednesday, February 4, the Summit programme opens with its Welcome Evening Networking Reception, giving delegates an introduction to Adare with informal networking, and a taste of Irish hospitality. Continuing on Thursday, February 5, the opening day will feature knowledge-sharing panels with global funders and thought leaders, thematic discussions on equity, co-productions, and storytelling innovation, followed by an Industry Networking Reception and a Networking Dinner with a Cultural Event.

Concluding on Saturday, February 7, the 2026 summit will host a networking breakfast, closing reflections on building a more inclusive industry, and an optional creative excursion, with further details to be announced.

Confirmed participants include WIFTI chapter members from more than 60 countries, leading producers seeking international partners, international funders, screen agencies and production companies, policy and advocacy professionals, talent development experts, and Irish and international speakers. Also announced as a special guest for the summit is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress, with an official announcement to follow.

Dr Liddy added, “On behalf of WFT Ireland, Women in Film and Television International and our partners. I invite you to an unforgettable summit experience. See you in February, until then slán!”
