Limerick, Ireland – The Cook Medical Women’s Mini Marathon 2019 was launched in Limerick yesterday by Michael Sheahan, Mayor of Limerick City and County, at The Strand Hotel Limerick. Now in its 21st year, up to 3,000 participants from all over Ireland are expected to take part.
The event kicks off at noon on Sunday, September 29, at the University of Limerick Sports Arena. Participants of all ages will run, jog, or walk the 5 km and 10 km courses while raising funds for personally chosen charities in Limerick, the Mid-West and nationwide.
The route starts and finishes at the University of Limerick. This event has become a household event as women run or walk while some push their babies in their buggies. Other family members attend on the day to support their wives, sisters, girlfriends or friends.
