Women’s Shed Limerick unveiled its newly elected leadership team and outlined its goals for 2025 following a successful AGM

The Women’s Shed Limerick unveiled its newly elected leadership team and ambitious goals for the coming year following a successful Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 10, 2024, at The Unicorn Bar.
The new committee has been elected following the announcement in October that Sinead O’Beirne-Brinn, one of the shed’s founding members and Chairperson planned to step down from the role this year.
The elected committee for 2025 has been announced as: Chairperson, Eimear Scully; Vice Chairperson, Annette Murphy; Treasurer, Marguerite Ronan; Assistant Treasurer, Denise McAuliffe; Secretary, Terrie Chearnley; Assistant Secretary, Aimee Cregan; Events Coordinator, Caroline Meade; and Public Relations Officer, Mary Joe O’Connell
“I am honoured to step into the role of Chairperson for 2025,” said the newly elected Eimear Scully, adding, “We aim to create a supportive and vibrant environment where every member feels valued and inspired to contribute. We aim to make this year a transformative chapter for Women’s Shed Limerick.”
2025 brings a vision of growth and opportunity for the Women’s Shed Limerick as the group used the AGM to lay the foundation for several initiatives designed to enhance the Shed’s impact.

The group aim to promote community engagement with regular monthly gatherings focusing on nurturing connections among the Shed’s 137 members and exploring innovative ideas to serve the community.
Operational excellence is another aim for the group as their bi-monthly committee meetings will provide a platform for efficient planning and transparent communication with all members.
The committee has also identified several strategic priorities for 2025 including the goal to amend the Shed’s constitution to better align with its evolving needs.
They aim to do this by clearly defining the duties and responsibilities of committee members to improve governance. They have also highlighted the goal of securing a permanent home for the Women’s Shed.
The group will also focus on expanding membership and volunteer participation to attract a diverse and dynamic audience.
“The plans for 2025 are both ambitious and necessary to ensure our growth and sustainability,” added Eimear Scully, Chairperson, she continued, “This year, we’re setting the groundwork for long-term success.”
The AGM also served as an opportunity to honor the contributions of outgoing committee members, volunteers, and supporters whose dedication has been instrumental in the Shed’s success.
“We wouldn’t be where we are today without the incredible efforts of those who came before us,” said Eimear Scully, Chairperson, noting, “Their hard work has paved the way for an even brighter future.”
The new committee’s inaugural meeting is scheduled for February 2025, with updates and developments to be shared with members regularly. As 2024 comes to a close, the Women’s Shed Limerick extends warm wishes to all members and supporters for a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year
