World-Class Limerick Powered by Dynamic Reflection

An Engineers Ireland evening event with a broad range of speakers presented by chartered engineer John Garrett will take place at the Strand hotel on Wednesday the 19 November at 7.30 pm.
Limerick is steeped in a history that shows the enormous impact it has had on the lives of people throughout the world. We are renowned for our love of sport and the welcome we extend to our visitors. The arts and culture play a central part of our everyday lives. We are an industrious people – leaders in many engineering and technological innovations that are making a difference. This presentation will include reflections that will demonstrate the collaborative possibilities that make Limerick world-class.
Speakers on the evening will include Seán Lally, general manager of Limerick Strand Hotel and chairman of Limerick Marketing Company, Deirdre Power, socially engaged artist, Dr Ursula Callaghan who is a historian as well as the chair of Limerick Georgian Society and chair of the History and Heritage group for City of Culture.
Other speakers include Dr Janet Harbison from the Irish Harp Orchestra, Prof Tom Cosgrove chartered engineer and Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Limerick and Eamonn Harty – producer of Passion 2014.
Presenter on the evening John Garrett is a chartered engineer and a fellow of Engineers Ireland. He is the director of John T Garrett & Associates Consulting Engineers, Mediators and Conciliators in Limerick where he has practiced for the past 35 years. Along with this John has published two volumes of “Be Inspired – Images and stories of Limerick’s true leaders”.

Those who attend are also encouraged if they wish to write their own short 400 to 800 word Dynamic Reflection on Limerick. The written reflections will be included in the document “World–Class Limerick – Powered by Dynamic Reflection Legacy Document (Volume 1).
