Tourism boost expected as prestigious World Travel Bloggers visit Limerick
Travel bloggers from around the world were in Limerick this week as part of the prestigious and influential social media conference, TBEX Europe 2017, which was organised by Fáilte Ireland and supported by Shannon Group.
TBEX is the largest conference and networking event for travel bloggers, online travel journalists, new media content creators, travel brands and industry professionals.
Each year, TBEX partners with fantastic host destinations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific to bring the travel industry’s most creative minds together to learn, network and do business.
The conference took place last week and attracted more than 600 delegates with a combined social media reach of over 300 million people worldwide.
The event was the largest gathering of world travel bloggers, online travel writers, new media content creators, and social media- savvy travel industry professionals ever in Ireland.
Commenting on the importance of the social media influencers’ visit, Nandi O’Sullivan, Head of Communications, Shannon Group said: “Blogs and social media strongly influence a very large portion of holidaymakers when it comes to choosing where to go for their breaks.

Pre and post tours were organised for the bloggers to help showcase Limerick to hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
Among the places they visited were King John’s Castle Limerick where they met with Niall O’Callaghan the newly appointed Managing Director of Shannon Heritage.
They enjoyed a visit to Foynes Flying Boat Museum, a guided walking tour of the city and a visit to Escape Limerick.
