Irish folk duo Ye Vagabonds have been announced as the special guest support act for the Patti Smith Quartet show at King John’s Castle on Tuesday, July 14.
The folk band, made up of brothers Diarmuid and Brían Mac Gloinn from Carlow are set to take the stage ahead of the punk rock legend on Tuesday, giving concert-goers and fans a chance to see them with not many show announcements remaining for 2026.
The musicians have just wrapped up a mammoth tour, which included an Irish leg from November 28 to March 29, with their most recent Irish gig played in Dolan’s, requiring a second date to be added due to high demand. Their tour went on to see them perform across Europe up to June 11.
Punk rock legend Patti Smith is set to make her Limerick debut with the Live At The Castle gig with the Patti Smith Quartet at King John’s Castle on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Fifty years since the release of her first recording, Horses, Smith will honour the longevity and lasting influence of the album with a series of special shows performing the record in its entirety.
Following the announcement, a King John’s Castle spokesperson said, “We’re delighted to announce the Patti Smith Quartet live at King John’s Castle on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Patti’s debut Limerick performance brings one of music’s most influential voices to the heart of the city for a very special evening.”
