Now Available Dr. Christian Moretti’s new book, ‘Glory is for the Vain, Fight is for the Brave’ is now available in ebook and paperback from Amazon.
Christian is an Italian native who moved to Ireland 7 years ago. He is currently a novelist and secondary school Italian, Spanish and SPHE teacher at Colaiste Ciaran in Croom. Christian works with young people daily and realises his influence on not only them but also the community. He is also actively involved with Pieta House and strongly believes in promoting positive mental health and suicide prevention which is an ongoing campaign in Limerick.

Dr Moretti’s book, ‘Glory is for the Vain, Fight is for the Brave’ discusses his experience as an LGBTQI activist. Of course, Christian’s role as Mr Gay Limerick is mentioned on many occasions throughout the book as it is now such a big part of his life. Christian Moretti’s new book is divided into different chapters, each dealing with different issues/topics. In his book, Christian discusses coming out, the importance of Pride, authenticity, violence against women, homophobia, kindness, mental health, suicide prevention, and much more. This book features a collection of critical and opinion pieces which challenge the social perception of the LGBTQI community in Ireland and the world.
Speaking about his new book, Christian said, “My idea was to create a sort of ‘manual’ where I discuss different issues which are close to me in the hope to inspire other people to fight for what is right not only for the LGBTQI community but for the community as a whole.”
‘Glory is for the Vain, Fight is for the Brave’ is essentially his version of the events where Christian explains what he did and the rationale behind it.
Christian also added, “I decided to publish this book because I wanted to leave something to my community, a legacy. I am an educator, published novelist and journalist, therefore, this was the most obvious move for me. I am a strong believer in the power of communication and spreading knowledge. I want this book to reach the people who are struggling with many issues and make them understand that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Also, I hope that even people who are not struggling will have a chance to read it and reflect on how varied our society is and how kindness is needed in order to make our world better.”
