Miriam Duffy, Executive Director Rape Crisis Midwest, said “We are so pleased that the Irish World Academy has organised this fantastic concert once again. It was an incredible night last year and we are very much looking forward to it. It not only raises much needed funds but also helps us to raise awareness. This event is very symbolic for Rape Crisis Midwest, as the title of the event – Darkest Midnight 2016 , reflects the time of year we are facing and also, the feeling of many men and women when they come to us for help – with support and counselling, hope prevails and the dawn arrives.

Dr. Sandra Joyce, Director of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, said “We are absolutely delighted to support the important work of Rape Crisis Midwest again this year with a concert showcasing the vocal and musical talent of our students, faculty and alumni. This event is an example of our continued commitment to community outreach and civic engagement”

Dr. Niamh NicGhabhann, course director of the MA Festive Arts Programme said “The MA Festive Arts class are helping to produce the event, making sure that the Irish World Academy building is transformed for a night of magical performance and song”.
