At a Death Café people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is “to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives”.

A Death Café is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.

Jennifer Moran Stritch is the director of the Loss and Grief Research Group, a part of the Social Sciences ConneXions research collective at TUS. Jennifer lectures in the social sciences at TUS and facilitates workshops  on aspects of death education, grieving, and experiences of loss, resilience, and growth across the human lifespan.

As one of the founding hosts of Death Café Limerick in 2015, Jennifer has facilitated Death Café events across Ireland.
