In mid-April 1919, Limerick trade unions and workers protested the imposition of martial law in the city by calling a general strike and establishing a ‘Soviet’ to manage the city’s affairs, even issuing its own currency.
This exhibition tells its story and will be on display at Watch House Cross Library from Tuesday 16th – Saturday 27th April (closed on Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd April).
